Starting as a teenage music journalist who toured on a press junket with Kiss to Japan, she achieved several firsts worldwide. She was the youngest Bureau Chief for Billboard Magazine in Japan at 21; introduced punk rock to the Japanese market through her promotion agency; founded a digital publishing company specializing in travel guides with GPS on CD-ROM pre-internet in Europe; had one of the first travel blogs in 2000; created an AIDS awareness non-profit in South Africa aimed at teenagers, and had her first and only love child in her forties. She runs EK Editorial and Coaching, a business specializing in ghostwriting, book coaching, and editorial services for authors.

Elise is working on her second book in her memoir trilogy, A Rogue Entrepreneur - How She Did It Around the World, to be released in 2024. After living in five countries on three continents, she returned stateside in 2008 and moved to Austin in 2011, which she calls home. elisekrentzel.com
